Property Mapping is a secondary visual representation of the cadastral information from the
primary sources of deeds, plats and surveys for the purpose of creating a composite
representation of land within a governmental unit for tax, zoning or other proper
governmental purposes.
That information developed from property mapping may be used as a basis for further
investigation onto the primary sources of deeds, plats and surveys, but it is not intended
to serve as a substitute for primary sources of cadastral information.
